The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in TESOL is a comprehensive online program designed to equip educators with effective methodologies and practical skills for teaching English to speakers of other languages. The curriculum emphasizes the development of the four core language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—along with focused training in lesson planning, need-based instruction, and the principles of language acquisition.






Program Overview

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in TESOL offers an in-depth exploration of essential TESOL principles, including grammar, phonology, teaching methodologies, classroom management, and lesson planning. This program blends theoretical foundations with hands-on application, ensuring that learners are well-prepared to deliver effective English language instruction in diverse educational settings.

Participants develop the skills required to thrive in the field of English Language Teaching, while also advancing their academic and professional growth. The curriculum extends to Business English instruction, covering areas such as needs analysis, adult learning strategies, course design, and materials development. Additionally, the program prepares educators to manage large and culturally diverse classrooms, enabling them to deliver engaging, learner-centered instruction tailored to a global audience.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission into the M.Ed. in TESOL program, applicants should:

  • Hold a recognized Bachelor's degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification
  • Have relevant work experience and/or prior learning credits (considered during evaluation)
  • Demonstrate basic English proficiency, such as an IELTS score of 5.0 (or equivalent), completion of prior education in English, or a minimum of 55% in English at the high school level.
  • Possess basic skills in online research and MS Word proficiency (preferred but not mandatory)

Program Requirements

  • Complete the full program of study in a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months
  • Students unable to complete the program within the stipulated time will be granted a 1-year grace period, with a maintenance bench fee applicable to complete the degree
  • Students can attend 6 live online webinar sessions conducted by expert educators at no additional cost

All our M.Ed. programs under Faculty of Education have three distinct parts:

  • Part One – Foundation Course which comprises of 10 credits and 2 Subjects
  • Part Two – Core Program comes with 60 credits and 6 Subjects
  • Part Three – Specialization of Subjects, comes with 40 credits divided into 4 Specialized subjects
  • Part Four - Capstone Project which is a reflective research work comprises of 10 credits

Awarding Body

  • The Master’s degree will be awarded by East Bridge University
  • Students will also receive a Letter of Completion from Asian College of Teachers (ACT)

Capstone Project (10 credits) - Choose 1

  • Prepare a paper on any one topic by attending a live online webinar from ACT – 5000 words
  • Attend any seminar in Education in your region and create a reflective paper on the same – 5000 words
  • Research Paper on a topic related to TESOL – 5000 words
