The autonomous research phase is what sets the professional doctoral programs apart from PhD degrees.

A Professional Doctorate in Education recognizes one’s practical work experience and mastery of areas, such as curriculum and instruction, education, educational administration, educational psychology, special education, teaching, learning & development etc. Consequently, the doctoral research focuses primarily on applying the existing theories and knowledge to one’s area of work to strengthen professional practice and qualify them for top positions within the industry.
